What is the difference between PREBILL (PBI) and POSTBILL (PSI) Orders?
PBI and PSI are both internal order types.
The difference is about the timing of when the invoice is printed and how the postage/freight charges are handled.
Prebill: the order is entered, and fully calculated, including all postage/freight. Then the invoice is printed and usually used to be picked from. There is no picklist printed for a prebill invoice. The invoice is generally included in the box or mailed if the billto and shpto are different.
Postbill: the order is entered, the picklist is printed, the warehouse pick/pack, pack list is printed and point into box, the order is confirmed back to ipub. The means that the confirming postage and any carton shipment ID’s are also added to the order, the order is re-totaled to include the actual freight, and the invoice is printed, sometimes it is printed at the packing station and then included intot he box, other times it is printed and mailed.
